For the former there’s a striking sandy beach extending five miles from end to end – so loads of snoozing space there. If you have the energy to get active, there are watersports from pedaloes to parasailing. And while the beach is fairly cramped, its gentle slope into the Mediterranean provides broad shallows – excellent for lazy on a lilo.

Kavos also has plenty of little shops, more than you’ll ever need, offering an array of shopping options with everything from flip flops to beach balls. There are also a few traditional tavernas, there are plenty of cafes perfect for grabbing some fast food or to sample an English breakfast – whenever you wake. So nosh can be pretty cheap. Kavos in Corfu really gets lively after dark though. You need to pace yourself in the clubs, pubs and bars if you like partying till dawn. For twosomes on holiday to Kavos, the San Marina Hotel ticks all the boxes. If you are looking for a last minute holiday to Kavos, there are usually plenty of bargains.

At the north east tip of the island there are also loads of resorts to suit every taste. The resort of Kassiopi is quite lively but not to the extent of Kavos. The tempo rises after dark when the younger set troop to music bars and the traditionalists find a charming taverna for food and discussing the holiday. Just around the coast is the resort of Sidari Corfu which features clubs, bars, pubs and restaurants galore and loads of choices to help you party dusk-till-dawn. It is fair to say that Corfu offers resorts to suit most tastes.
